Hello, friends! How was your month of November? Were you able to find ways to take care of YOU? I didn’t follow through with all of my goals – but now I know the areas where I need to try a little harder. This isn’t just a pampering session – it’s a way that we can remember to put our needs back on the to-do list, so we can take better care of our loved ones!
Your encouragement, support, and stories of how you are caring for yourself really inspired and challenged me this month! Let’s keep it up!
Last month I set the goal of limiting sugar during November. While this was a good goal, I think I need to be a little more specific with myself! I DID limit it, but maybe not as much as I should have.
I have completely stopped using sugars in my tea, and I have replaced it with local honey. I became used to the taste, and now I wouldn’t have it any other way. I don’t miss using raw sugar in my morning tea any more!
I did start craving sugar one day – and I decided to quietly roast a few mini-marshmallows over a candle in the kitchen. It was a good way to satisfy my craving without going overboard. I probably only had three or four total. Shhhh…don’t tell my boys!
I had a few Chew Spree candies during a movie night on the couch, and made a yummy Cool-Whip fruity salad for my family’s Thanksgiving meal, and had a sliver of the pumpkin pie my Beloved made last week – but that’s about it as far as sugars go.
I could have been better, but I’m learning to be glad for the progress that I am making. I am my own worst critic, so I need to give myself grace when I don’t do as much as I think I should.
