Oh Romeo, Romeo. Wherefore art thou, Romeo?

Our Border Collie puppy, Romeo, asked if he could guest post today. Apparently, you can type without thumbs. You haven’t seen many photos of him here in my little corner of the world, mostly because he’s so fast that he photographs as a black and white blur. I’m going to take the day off while you sit back, relax, and get to know one of our furry kids a little bit better. Take it away, Romeo! ~ Love, Ginger

Life with a Border Collie Puppy - justoneoftheboys.com

*Sniff, sniff, woof* Hey, everybody! I’m Romeo, the Border Collie lover boy. I don’t remember much about my early days, but some people found me wandering around an empty racetrack. I guess you could say that I’ve always had the need for speed.

When no one claimed me, the vet’s office where I was staying put out word that I was up for adoption. My new family took one look at my picture and came to rescue me!

I was so happy to finally have a home! My boys taught be how to play this awesome game called fetch. My favorite thing in the whole world is running after a tennis ball! I love to wrestle with my Border Collie sister, Bella. It’s so much fun to be a pesky little brother. When we’re inside, I love being the center of attention. Pet me!

Mom is always getting out a thing called a vacuum. It’s pretty much the scariest thing ever. When I try to herd the vacuum, she sends me to dog jail. I don’t know why she even bothers. After she cleans up all of my black and white fur, I just have to work on shedding all over the house again.

Oh, I pretty much rock at photobombing, too!

I may be a goofball, but I also have a serious side. I fancy myself a renaissance pup. At the end of the day, I love curling up in bed with a good book and smelling Mom’s Earl Grey tea. Fitzgerald and Shakespeare are my favorite, but I enjoy a good Snoopy comic every now and then.

When I get too drowsy to read, I like to curl up next to Mom and Bella for my bedtime pets as I fall asleep. It’s a rough life, but it sure beats being a stray at a race track! Thanks so much for staying to get to know me a little better.

Wishing you peace, kibble, & tennis balls forever,

Ginger-We have 2 border collies! One looks similar to yours. We have girls named Lucky & Oreo. Litter mates. They are the best dogs!

Yay!!! Border Collie kindred spirits! We also have two Border Collies! Bella is about 6 years old and belonged to my husband before we were married. She’s a sweetheart! We were doing agility classes with her when we found out about Romeo – and our lives haven’t been the same since! 🙂 My husband’s sister even has 4 Border Collies – talk about a busy house! 🙂 I am so thrilled that you stopped by – thank you so much! Your comment made my day! Say “Hey” to Lucky and Oreo for us!

    From Justice,
Hey Romeo. I’m Justice and I was rescued too!! By the Allman’s. I don’t really know what I am but they think maybe I am part pit bull and part terrier and part something else. Anyway the son of the family came and got me and they told me they had this pure bred golden retriever for 12 years until he died :(. I am wondering why they picked me to follow a pure bred hero. Little worried too. I was scared at first and I did not want anyone messing with me but they just kept doing nice stuff all the time. It almost makes me cry but I get to eat everyday… I have not missed even one day .. except that one day where Levi… that’s the son took me to a new neighborhood and I saw something and took off and before I knew it I did not know where I was. Anyway I was as afraid as I have ever been and slept outside in the cold for the first time in a long time; well not much sleep really. 24 hours went by and I am still just running here and there until I hear someone yelling my name and I run in that direction. I found my way back and boy(thats what the mom calls him to me) was there waiting. As we drove home I saw my picture on signs everywhere and I still dont know what that was about…. So the dad built this hugh fence around the back yard so I can play all I want even when no one is outside watching. I get upset when they leave me alone but when they come home I run around and jump high in the air for a few minutes. They seem to like me doing this. I’ll continue… I really feel loved by everyone here and the son and dad are chasing me around the house at times and we have a great time. I run behind the couch where they can’t come and hide…. I have a ball everyday. You should come by sometimes. I’ll show you where they hide the treats! You sound like you got it good too. Great pictures.
