A Day in Pictures ~

Happy Monday, y’all!

Last week I joined up with the lovely Hollywood Housewife by taking snapshots of my day using Instagram. It was so much fun to see all of the other photos in the #OneDayHH link-up, and to bond with others over the little things in our day that make life so special!

I thought that I might share with you a few little glimpses into my day last week:

A wee little man in Star Wars jammies came to snuggle with me while I was having my morning quiet time…

I don’t have a hand mirror, so I sometimes rely on a backwards selfie to make sure that my hair isn’t too crazy in the mornings. Camden says my hair looks like a pom-pom…

Dishes to wash from the last night’s meeting for the moms in our homeschooling group – lots of apple cider, fruit crisp, and mommyhood stories to go around!

I reminded Camden to pack his lunch, and then we took him to school. After that, I went home to a cup of Earl Grey tea and Shauna Niequist’s pear/blueberry crisp for breakfast – yum!

Aiden’s homework for his photography class with our homeschooling group – take a photo of someone you’re thankful for, and he chose me! *mommy heart melt* After snapping his picture, then went back inside to work on handwriting, spelling, and to learn about the Spanish-American War.

Next up in our crazy day is my physical therapy appointment. I am incredibly grateful to be recovered enough from hip surgery to bend down to tie my own shoes! And no crutches!!! I’d do the *happy Snoopy dance* but I’m not quite THAT recovered just yet. Maybe soon!

Bella is lending Quinn moral support as he practices his Bible verses for AWANA and reads aloud to me while Aiden is taking a math test in the next room…

Time for science class with my little astronomers! Today’s lesson is about nebulae and variable stars…

Rocking out to some jams with Quinn and Aiden while we wait for Camden to get out of school…”Ice, Ice, Baby…” “Don’t step on my blue suede shoes…” “God’s not dead, He’s surely alive…” My iPod collection is a bit of a smorgasbord! I’m trying to give my kids a well-rounded musical experience, even though I’m not entirely sure where Vanilla Ice falls into that category…Hmm…

Supper devoured, snacks for my small group prepared, and Bible verses reviewed. Ooops! Almost forgot to attach Quinn’s badge! Hurry up, before it’s time to leave for church!

AWANA night for the littles, Home Team for me, and then we do FaceTime on my phone with Daddy Joe to tell him goodnight…

Munchkins tucked in, kisses and prayers all around. Then it’s time for me to unwind with a little last minute touch-up to the next day’s blog post, (In Her Shoes ~ The Search for Sydney’s Hero), a warm pear/blueberry crisp, and Rachmaninov playing in the background…

What a relaxing end to our busy day!

Thank you so much for joining me on a little sneak peek into what it’s like at the Just One of the Boys house!

In case you missed it, I also linked up with Modern Mrs. Darcy last week – her bookshelf link-up was so much fun! In case you missed it, I enjoyed doing a little show & tell last week of which books are on our bookshelves.

Here’s hoping that you have a most fabulous week!

How fun! I love your blue teacup and spoon in your breakfast picture, and the pear and blueberry crisp looks divine! I read “Bread and Wine” a few months ago and loooooved it, and started “Cold Tangerines” last night. 🙂

Thank you so much, Ana! My teacup and spoon are Russian Gzhel. I brought them home with me after living there for a year after high school. I just read your review of To Marry an English Lord. Wowzers, that sounds like a great book! Wasn’t Bread&Wine the best? I love her book Bittersweet as well! I am so happy that you stopped by!

  • Looks like a fun day. I say you can file Vanilla Ice under History Lessons of the 1990s. I am doing a Day in the Life post tomorrow that was inspired by the Hollywood Housewife photo project, too!

Ah! There’s my excuse for enjoying a little early 90s music around my kiddos! 😉 Yay! I can’t wait to see your post tomorrow – that was also a fun link-up! I loved checking in throughout the day to see what little things people were up to! I just went to check out your fb page! Love making new blogging friends! 🙂

    Ginger –
First Sir Mix-a-Lot and now Vanilla Ice?! If you could somehow work in a reference to MC Hammer or C + C Music Factory anytime in the near future, you would totally receive a “best friend” request from me – if those existed! Okay, all sorry attempts at a joke aside, I loved this post. You made me chuckle, swoon (have to second Ana’s compliments on your gorgeous teacup), tear up (the picture that your son took of you was one of the most beautiful things I have seen in a while & the photo of Facetime w/your husband b/f bed put me over the edge!), & realize that I am hungry (that crisp looks AMAZING). Thanks for sharing your day. And apologies for the ridiculously longwinded comment.

Oooh! I can totally throw in MC Hammer and C+C Music Factory! I’ll work those in soon 😉 I loved sweet your note – thank you so much for your encouragement to me! It was exactly what I needed! 🙂
