May I please show you a little obsession of mine?
Ta-dah! I have a wee bit of a crush on Turkish glass serving dishes! Just look at these beauties! Have you ever seen anything so pretty?! Okay, I know it’s all subjective, and that beauty is all in the eye of the beholder – but I absolutely love these dinnertime gems! I have slowly collected these bowls, plates and platters from TJ Maxx and Marshall’s – my two favorite stores!
I love serving our meals on these pieces – they really are jewelry for the dining table! I especially love how they glint and glimmer against our copper table top – as if they could be brand new or older, long-treasured pieces! Can you tell that I’m a sucker for global flair when it comes to decor?
(Can you tell that I’m playing with the camera? My Beloved recently bought a new lens for our camera – and while I still don’t know what I’m doing, I’m having fun playing with the settings and trying different things. Thank you for putting up with my less than stellar photography – right now I’m just a snapping fool!)
The only downside to these pieces is that you can’t stick them in the dishwasher, but does it look as if I mind? Seeing them display a batch of muffins, hold a colorful salad, or serve corn on the cob hot off the grill – it makes me smile to use them! It makes everyday meals a wee bit dressier of an occasion! Oooh, and how pretty would these look hanging on a wall? Hmmm…I feel the creative juices flowing…
Buying these from Marshall’s and TJ Maxx means that I didn’t have to break the bank to collect them! Many of my pieces were even on clearance! *happy Snoopy dance* Have I mentioned that I never pay full-price for anything? Really. Almost never. I’m
cheapity-cheap-cheap-cheap frugal like that.
Well, that’s a peek at one of my collections – the other two would be books and, *ahem*, shoes…but that’s another post for another time. I can’t help but wonder what things YOU collect. What things add a little beauty into your lives? Do you collect something that makes you smile? I would love to hear about it!
